Wholesalers buy by the box and retail by the piece. Tell Simple Invoicing that one box is twelve pieces and it does the arithmetic: purchases convert to pieces, the cost per piece is worked out, and the counter can sell either unit.
What you can do
Define your packs
Add a box, carton or strip with the number of pieces in it, an optional pack barcode and an optional pack price.
Purchase in boxes
Enter "5 Box at ₹600" and the software records 60 pieces at ₹50 each, so stock and cost stay consistent.
Sell either way
On the billing screen a small switch changes a line between pieces and boxes. Scanning a pack barcode adds a box directly.
Stock shown the way you think
The item list shows stock as, for example, "3 box 7 pcs", while tax and totals stay in pieces.
Also included
- No separate step to open a box: selling pieces from a box just works
- Pack price defaults to the pieces times the piece price
- Printed bills show lines such as "2 Box (24)"
- Works with variant and batch items too
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to open a box before selling loose pieces?
No. Stock is counted in pieces, so selling pieces simply reduces the total.
Can I have more than one pack size?
Yes. Add as many pack levels as you need, such as a strip, a box and a carton.
